Hi, all. Finally wandered out of the Middle Tennessee forum.
Just before Labor Day, we bought a 60 gallon aquarium with most of the livestock from a pretty well-established local. He had a threesome of clowns, a big orange one we called Big Mama and two smaller mostly black and white males that followed her around the tank. We already had one pair of clowns living in another 30 gallon tank and thought an odd number of clowns was weird and probably bad karma, but it was working for him so we being n00bs didn't say anything.
So a couple weeks ago Big Mama flips out and starts trying to murder one of her consorts. Constant chasing, pinning him in a corner up by the surface, etc. I scooped him out, dead pale from stress, and put him in the back bedroom tank where the two little juveniles from the LFS welcomed him and started following him around like puppies. He's thrived back here, while in the living room tank Big Mama and her remaining male are doing fine.
Now Kate read a couple books on clowns, and we've looked around online some, but can someone give me a short explanation of what the heck happened other than just me calling it attempted murder?
