I have 2 clownfish alone in a 20 gallon. Right now, it's just a FOWLR setup but I'm hoping to get some macroalgae soon. I've had the clowns for a little over 3 weeks now. They are extremely active and I'm wondering if this is normal as I thought clownfish usually pick a territory and hover around that area. Mine are constantly on the move. They swim fast all around the tank. At first I thought it was just new environment stress but it has almost been a month since I got them. They are eating fine. I've been monitoring my parameters as I thought maybe something was off and stressing them but those look good. Water temperature stays at 78 degrees.

Is this something I should be worried about or just clownfish behavior?

Would not concern me. A 20 is not that big. If they other wise appear healthy you probably have nothing to worry about.

Nope, they are trying to figure the tank out, as they are the only fish it seems they can and should claim the whole tank. No need for claiming turf of there are no competitors of any kind.
In my tank my lmc (lightning maroon clowns) think they are pistol shrimp cause they love rearranging the sand. Karen (lmc) and my wife have a battle everyweekend rearranging the sand. My wife doesn't know it, but it's a losing battle. But it keeps her off of me, so go karen!
