Clownfish being bipolar

I was gonna post some pics of my clown but when I turn on the white light for good pics he gets scared and sits in the corner of the tank while rapidly breathing this normal (don’t usually turn on lights as I don’t have coral and don’t want algae growth)

Wouldn't you also be scared and hyperventilating if the sun suddenly got 10x brighter?

You really should have a light schedule. Almost every living creature on Earth goes by a dusk to dawn or vise versa light schedule. You can control algea through water quality and tank maintenance. A clean up crew will help too.

I have had great success with my clown fish once we got him a peppermint anemone. It seems comforting for him to have a host.
