I bought a breeding pair of black and white clownfish about a month ago. The female looked like she had eggs in her when I got her and now she still looks like she has eggs. I know she has eggs because if I stick my fingers in the tank the male gets super defensive. I was wondering if anyone has ran into this before. I didn't know they could keep eggs for however long they wanted. I assume she hasn't laid because she isn't used to the new tank yet. Been feeding 3-4 times per day and she eats well.

Patience is key. I have moved clownfish from one tank to another and it took 6 months for them to start laying again. I would say an everage is 2-3 months. I haven't noticed a female holding eggs for a prolonged period of time so i am no help there.
