How long does it take for clownfish eggs to hatch? My clowns layed some eggs on the side of my overflow (behind some rocks). The male has been actively guarding the eggs for at least a month now!

Not that long. Mine have always hatched in 7 to 10 days depended on temperature. I'm guessing they're infertile? Are they still the orange color or can you actually see baby clowns in the egg sack?

Yeah, 10 days or so sounds about right. Are you sure it's the same batch of eggs? Mine will turn silvery, then in a couple days, they're gone. I think they hatch at night, then unfortunately, I'm assuming eaten or sucked into the filters. [emoji53]

I can't really see them clearly to see if there's anything in the eggs. They are in a circular patch about 1.5" across...seem attached to the wall end slightly moving in the current. Maybe i should just scrape them off so the male can get back to normal activities!

They do seem to have a whitish appearance to some of them. Most just look clear.

eggs are orange fresh laid, then turn silver just before hatching about 10 days later.
They should be laying new eggs every couple weeks
