so i brought home a small clownfish from my local frag swap today and in the hope that it would keep my other clown company and maybe, if i was lucky enough, start hosting my BTA.

Well... low and behold, he made my green hammer a home and got pretty comfy quick. im happy he is hosting something even though it isnt my BTA.

i think this is SO COOL. here is some pics

Is there anything a clown won't host? I've got two (out of a dozen) that have hosted my biggest elegance and are currently guarding a brood at the base. The rest are in gonis, hammers, frogspawn, zoas...everywhere...I got rid of all my BTAs when they basically took over the tank and I couldn't get rid of them fast enough. Clowns don't seem to mind and neither do the corals...

Just a heads up, clowns hosting Euphyllia isn’t good for the coral. They tend to nip at the coral trying to clean it which just ends up constantly bothering the coral till it dies

shortly after my last post the clown went back to the hammer and 2 months later still lives happily there. the hammer is healthy as can be and has growth substantially since the clown moved in. i think it likes when the clown brings home more than he can chew in food haha
