This is my wife and I’s first foray into salwater. Our tank has cycled and got a pair of clowns. One of the little guys had been isolated from others since they were being aggressive and even nipped his caudal fin.

The store associate ended up giving him to us for free as a pair to another clown we picked out that is showing zero signs of aggression to the one question.

Is this fish okay? We were told his fins will grow back.

This fish is a victim of aggression damage especially the tail and likely from another clownfish. What other fish are in the tank with it?
Best chance of healing is isolation of the fish or isolation of the aggressor

It had already been quarantined at the store but I was told one of the inexperienced associates had placed it in with a maroon that got it pretty good.

It’s peaceful with the other clown and are adjusting fairly well I would presume. Keeping a close eye but I’m hoping the fins heal up!

Fins most always do.

Good trouble: Have mushrooms ever become pests in your aquarium?
