Hey

I have a black male clownfish my friend sold me and was looking at getting a platinum white clownfish. Would it be best to get a female and see if they pair up or a male or will they still change sex at this point?

Thanks :)

I would get one smaller than yours unless you know 100 it is a male. In my experience they can change sex in just a few days once mature enough. Since you don’t have another clown there it a good chance it is a female unless very small.

Okay so you'd recommend choosing the smaller of the clownfish to introduce to the male clownfish? I can get them within a day of each other if that helps, my friend is offering me the male of his paired clownfish and keeping the female makes things fun and games but it is what it is I guess haha.

No big at all. Just get one that is of smaller size and the male will become female typically. You could shoot for same size and it will be a bit of a battle to whomeever is gonna be the King cheese

Okay dokey have an action plan now! Thanks for all the help
