I bought a clownfish recently (2 days ago my first ever saltwater fish) he ate one time but ever since that he just spits out the food I’m feeding

What are you feeding him? What was it raised on? There are different sized pellets or you might splurge on frozen foods.

What are you feeding them?

It happens. Make sure the pellets are small enough - it's easy to underestimate the size of the pellets we put in. My new gramma will spit out its TDO pellets if they aren't small enough.

Also, it sometimes happens that fish aren't too enthusiastic about eating when you first get them. It took my clowns a couple days to eat and eat consistently when I got them.

yes had the same issue as well, try some different food. Eventually they will eat anything :)

Yea I tried pellets I tried flakes he ate once the pellets I tried crushed flakes today

Mine prefer white worms over black worms. They are a bit pampered.

Frozen mysis shrimp was the first big meal for my clowns. Drop a good chunk or two, with the pumps on feed mode, and give it a little swirl. I got a good feeding response from that.

Sidenote: if you have a baster, you can use that to carefully dispense the shrimp and suck up what's not eaten.

I would love to try frozen food I just am not able to keep it in the freezer I’d need a nice little cheap freezer
