Clownfish stuck by Urchin- possibly dying

So I have 2 fancy percula clownfish and a purple short spine pin urchin among others in my red sea reefer 350. Today, as I was standing in front of the tank, I watched the smaller of the 2 clowns swimming extremely close to the urchin. When it turned to dart away, it impaled its tail on the urchin's spines. It happened right in front of my eyes. The clownfish immediately stopped moving. I rushed to free him from the urchin, and no spines were stuck in the clown's tail.

Now the clown is really struggling to breathe, swimming on its side on the sand bed. I am assuming a fish being stung by an urchin is similar to a human. Since he was only impaled for a matter of seconds (so happy I was there), I was wondering what you all think of its chances of survival. I am also guessing there is nothing I can do but wait and watch. Thanks for the help.
