Woke up this morning to find that my clownfish had gotten into the hydrometer. I think he jumped in through one of the openings at the top somehow. Any solutions??? Tried breaking it open

Wow this is a first for me!

Maybe a dumb question but can you just turn the hydrometer upside down in the tank and get him to slide out of the opening?

What have you tried?

Well, from the first pic, it looks like he has an SG of 1.023 - a bit low, but he should be OK :p

I can't see from he pic, but I assume there's an opening in the top? I would try tipping it upside down and gently shaking. Just make sure he doesn't go backwards because his pectoral fin will get caught on the swing arm. Otherwise I'd probably just break it open.

I currently have it upside down so that he’s faced towards opening. I’ve never seen this before. I’m tempted to find a way to break it open but it seems impossible cause I don’t want to harm the clownfish at all

I’ve tried placing it upside down so he faces the openings. I’m gonna try to use a screwdriver but I’m very nervous too. Don’t want to hurt the little fella :(
