CO2 scrubber and Hydros???

Has anyone used Hydros to control a CO2 scrubber hooked up to their skimmer? I was thinking of having two solenoids with one hooked up to the scrubber and one to "fresh" room air and depending on pH it would draw from scrubber if low and room air if in range? I was thinking I could hook them up to an outlet and control them that way which I have done with my DIY RODI auto-fill and auto-flush setup.

Along those lines does anyone think one of the water sensors could be used to automatically fill the scrubber when water in it gets too low? Currently using a BRS reactor for the scrubber so not sure I could even fit anything in there and not sure if there is a DIY option that could fit inside the plastic container?
 
I have not done this. I do have an air tube from outside that goes to the air intake on my skimmer. Have you done a search on the Hydros forum for someone that has posted about a CO2 scrubber?

I have and haven't seen any related threads. It should be pretty easy to hook up the solenoids through power strips but the idea of making it self fill with RODI would be the tricky part that would make it totally self sustaining minus changing out the scrubber media...
 
When I did it I just used a Y fitting - one side of the Y connects directly to the scrubber, and the other side of the Y connects to the solenoid. When the solenoid closes it takes air in from the scrubber and when it’s open you just get air from the room getting sucked in due to path of least resistance. I used a solenoid from McCaster-Carr and open/closed it from my XP8 based off PH.

That's basically what I plan on doing as that's what I did with my DIY RODI flush kit with solenoids. I bought two 3/8" RO solenoids always closed that will open depending on what line I want open.

You can simplify it and only use one if you wanted to.
