CO2 scrubber and water/moisture

I know it's supposed to be better to have a little water in the bottom to help it last longer and be more effective but curious who keeps a reservoir of RODI before their CO2 scrubber?

I just added a spare canister and curious if I added too much water in the canister going into the CO2 scrubber canister?

You'll have to keep your eye on the lime canister. Great when moist, not so if too sloppy.

Yep, I do the same. I keep a jar full of water right in line before my scrubber. Before I started doing that I was having to refill the bottom of the scrubber with water every 4-5 days because the air outside was so dry. Now I never have to worry about it. My media is lasting a lot longer now.

I am curious if I need to remove the inside hard plastic refillable media reactor part (https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/brs-reactor-refillable-cartridge-hard-shell.html) out of leave it in?

You don't need it. The point is just to draw air from the moist environment. If you remove the cartridge, it will still draw air from up top. I have a tube that goes down to the surface of the water in mine but that's optional.
