Help! My toadstool decided to detach itself from the rock last night so we glued it on. It was looking very sad and bent over for half a day. Just looked now and it’s wide open with a cobweb type stuff coming off it. Is it dying or am I a drama queen (well, yes I am but more specifically relating to this!) IMG_9171.jpeg

This is most likely shedding. Toadstool leathers periodically slough off their outer layer of tissue to remove algae and detritus buildup. It can look like mucus or cobwebs and usually happens when they’re adjusting to stress.

Keep an eye on it and make sure it has good flow to help shed the mucus.

This is the same coral only 3 hours earlier. Bent over and looking sad. Now it looks really swollen and has tiny green raised spots on it - like milia

Thanks so much. Will do!

Leathers need flow to help them shed their outer mucus layer. They also need flow to help them stand up straight. Put it in a spot where it gets good amount of random flow.

I would do like the others have stated and move it to an area where it gets good flow, but it could just be shedding skin. My toadstool would sometimes develop a glossy look, and I knew that meant it was shedding its outer layer of skin.
