Yeah if I had a do over, I wouldn't have done the live rock. I think the pests outweighed the benefits. I am currently struggling with PO4 as well. Things are coming around.

I started with dry, but added limpets later, assuming they were beneficial. For the most part they have been, but there's no doubt they acquired a taste for that cyphastrea. Got my PO4 down, just trying to balance my GFO usage as to not strip the system entirely.

I'm really sorry to hear of this Cody. My tank has been struggling with losses as of lately too. It's over 2 years old now so I don't think the Kalk can keep up with demand anymore. I am going to start dosing 2 part. Hopefully both our tanks will rebound.

Yea man hopefully so. My crash was 100% self inflicted wounds. Gain respect for my system which was the one positive in addition to better understanding the relationship and complexity of reef chemistry. Going to take things slow and maybe rebound with some new SPS pieces, but likely won't be happening for some time.

So sorry for your tank crash....been there, very disapointing...unfortunately it happens too often to people like us in this crazy hobby! Hopefully something was learned.

Sorry to read this, I went through my crash last October and November. Some of the corals that I though were gone have come back.

Couple weeks back I made a dumb mistake, one of many, by accidentally turning on my MJ1200 without re-connecting the plumbing after cleaning a reactor. Salt water hit my components and threw a breaker. It freaked me out so I relocated all of my electrical to one side of my stand, water sealed the enclosure with silicone and put in a few other preventative measures. Cherry on top was the acrylic panel door.

After running into some green hair/turf and bubble algae, decided to turn the pellets back on. My experience in the past with various reactors was not good so I bought an Accel reactor, hard plumbed it and made a little stand for it... all in all it's working great thus far! Using an MJ1200.

Which model deep blue is this. I don’t see any rimless 80 frag tank with anything but the corner overflow made for a Durso drain. I love the dimensions of this tank but want a center herbie or bean with 2 returns like you did.

So, it's been a while... A quick update. In roughly 2019 I got out of the hobby completely. This system was completely broken down and all livestock sold. I'm debating getting back into it, but on the fence. Reading through this thread from start to finish is crazy, quite a ride. There are days when I really miss having a system and there are days I'm content without :crying-face::). I'll spin up a new build thread if I get back into it.
