cold weather effect your body?

Anyone else get effected by the cold weather?

I have had a bunch of surgeries on my knee shoulder,elbow and back and it seems the cold weather bothers these area to the point I have to bundle up like a Eskimo LOL

Here in Michigan it can get cold in the winter but yesterday we were at my sons baseball game and I was wearing a tee shirt and shorts, and it started to get a little cooler and bam My knee shoulder and elbow started screaming. It was maybe 65-66 degrees. I have had issues int he past years but this was crazy.

The worst part is the pain is extreme but I cant take anything for paid as I'm allergic to everything except over the counter stuff and that gives me stomach issues.

I'm so not looking forward to the winter because of this but I love the fall and winter time SMH

Anyone else deal with cold intolerance?

Being 42 and dealing with all my injuries, this is the last thing I want to deal with UGGG

I have quite a few screws in my ankle from a compound fracture and any form of high pressure system or cold front really locks up my ankle limiting the range of motion and adding some pain. I always thought it was a myth when my dad said he could feel a storm coming in his knee hahaha. I like to think about it like having a sixth sense.

My Dr told me when he put the titanium plate in my back, that it would not only help repair my back but I would get a built in barometer :)

I realy notice the plate when its really cold out but the knee and shoulder and elbow, it will tell me anytime the weather is changing but the colder temps are brutal.

I need to move to Hawaii :)

I also feel your "pain".
Over twenty years ago when I was young, spry and stupid, I twisted my back and had a knee injury that now let's me know when a cold front and cooler weather is a day or two away.

I describe my symptoms as "grabbing a hot electrical wire". From my lower back all the way to my ankles I get a "buzzing" feeling that is similar to if you've every grabbed a bare wire and for the next few seconds your muscles are all tight and have continuous micro-spasms. There are nights that it keeps me awake as it actually hurts, but most of the time it's just more annoying than painful.
My wife and family always nag me about getting it checked out, but after dealing with it for this long it's just part of my normal life.

I believe you experienced the same weather front that I did the day prior. I thought my left knee cap was about to pop off of the knee; one of the more intense feelings this summer.
What makes for a bad combination is if the weather is hot and extremely humid at the cabinetshop. After working on my feet for ten hours in the sticky shop, I come home to a dry and air conditioned home and I can feel my legs tightening up as I sit down. Same thing happens when going into the hockey arenas to watch my son play.

I don't like taking any medications (or seeing doctors, for that matter) but when I cannot fall asleep, I will take any leftover pain meds I have from other issues. Those meds are precious and I save them for when it gets bad and I use them sparingly; it's a bad day when I run out.
