They will not kill your coral. I've had them as long as I've had a tank. They will come in surges at least in my tank. Ill see a bunch then they will disappear for months no idea what drives that. I've neve lost a coral to them or noticed stunted or slow growth from them.

Never had them kill a coral or had them spread like that. They’re on some corals, and not on others.

Yes they will spread to other acros. That's exactly how they got in your piece. They will 100% stunt the growth and in some cases kill the frag. They're an a sexual species that can reproduce quickly in nitrate rich environments.

Your choices are the ivermectin dip @Red_Beard suggested or cutting the frag and tossing the base. Personally I'd cut the piece as the ivermectin won't help against the worms that haven't bored to the surface yet.

I think I am going to try cutting it down and see what happens with the worm. I really dont want it to spread to my other acros.

Well I am out of this grow out contest. I ended up cutting the coral and found a few worms. I hope they did not breed in the tank yet. Not sure how quickly they spread.

Why you out? Didn't you cut the frag just above the worms?

I did but ended up tossing the coral cause the holes was more then half way up the coral. Did not want to risk it coming back and spreading to the other sps.

I think you made a wise choice. I was gonna tell you to look for holes after cutting the frag.

Yeah kinda sucks. The worm was definitely starting to affect the coral cause the pylop was retracted and the color was slightly off. But still have the other 2 grow out corals doing well.
