This is not a genuine entry. My tank crashed a couple months ago and I lost most of my acropora.

Bozo is gone unfortunately, but colliderscope survived. It had first browned out then totally bleached white. A cracked glass heater killed off most of the acros that were already struggling with a jump of silicates and iron in my well water getting through my rodi.

Here it is today... So this is more of a victory story as well as a testament to the hardiness of battle corals.

Sorry man that really sucks. Im glad to hear your still hanging in there, these things are never easy. At least you know what the culprit was which makes it a little easier to deal with. I switched over to stainless steal heating elements run by a ice cap controller. I had similar issues with my heater failing but not quite the catastrophe that you had.

Well this was a fun find this afternoon. Cut it? If so where?

Dang man that's always a hard call... seems like I loose them either way. I told myself the next time this happens to me I was going to put a little super glue on it and go right up to the skin and see if that works. STN just sucks and it can be so frustrating especially if all your parameters check out. I wish I could be more helpful ive dealt with this so many times over the years and honestly can not say one way is better than the other when saying to cut or not to cut.
I would say obviously check your parameter's and salinity and do a water change if possible. Last fall I had a huge problem with RTN and lost 25 percent of my corals and 50 percent of the other 75 percent that was left had half the colonys die off. It turned out to be a bacteria issue as I was carbon dosing.

Is this the only piece thats doing it ?

Yup. Only one. Tested yesterday. Nothing out of the ordinary level wise.
