Yesterday I bought a pistol shrimp/YWG pair. When added to the tank the pistol shrimp just darted off behind and rock and it looks like it’s been doing some work building a tunnel under it with multiple holes. My main thing is the YWG. It’s just kinda hanging out in the open sand not really doing much. It moves once in a while or try’s to swim up sometimes. Is this normal? Will the YWG eventually find the pistol shrimp?

Mine is crazy, when he is not paired up with a shrimp, glass surtfing, swimming aimlessly etc. When he has his shrimp, he is the chillest dude ever. Maybe they were not paired up properly, usually they find each other at night, but can takes some more time.

My watchman stayed in the open for a couple of days after I got him. Now? He protects his cave and doesn’t like to come out much, haha

Earlier this morning he seemed sad and just sitting there on the sand. Came home and couldn’t find him, and suddenly I saw a head poke out of a new little cave I’ve never seen before. There it was! Later on in the day I saw the pistol shrimp out too! Luckily the ywg is eating now.

Earlier this morning he was still out in the open. Came home and saw his little head poking out of a new cave! They are silly little fish, also saw the pistols shrimp out too! He ate when I fed some arcti pods so that’s good news!
