Hi All--
I wanted to know if anyone had personal experience with caring for these two fish together in the same tank. I have a 100g cube, so their potential for separation is unfortunately less than if it was a 100g rectangle. I have a fair amount of live rock with hiding spots, but my experience has been that if a fish that I put in my tank is the victim of even moderate bullying/aggression, then it is most likely going to not only hide, but stop eating and die within several days. I already have the Melanurus Wrasse and was thinking about putting in the Rainford's Goby to help with doing some mild sand-cleaning (and I think it's a nice-looking fish as a bonus).
I am worried about this combination of fish because it seems to me that they have a somewhat similar appearance in coloration and body shape (I know they are different, but there are some definite similarities). Also, I was under the impression that the Rainford's Goby is not as much of a bottom-dweller as the Shrimp Gobies: so it would normally want to be swimming around the tank more than a Shrimp Goby, which means it would be more likely to be having semi-frequent meetings with the Melanurus Wrasse.
Any knowledge about their compatibility with be greatly appreciated. Thanks much in advance!

Robert

There was never an issue when I kept them, though the goby was in first.

I've never heard of any issues with that combo, and I wouldn't really anticipate any either.
