I just got a reefkeeper lite. How do you make the Mars or Chinese knockoff lite work with this? Example: moonlight, sunrise, sunset, etc. Do you have to bypass the switches? Or does it do this through the electrical plugs?

Unless there is a 0-10v control port on your lights and a VDM module, you won't be able to control with the RKL.

They can be modified. I watched a YouTube video a while back when I thought about getting them for my 55 QT but after finding out none of them have UL rated power supply’s I opted to get a used set of SB’s that were traded in at the lfs. If your looking to go on the less expensive side I would save a few more dollars and just get the SBs that have the ability to control built in. Just my 2cents.
