Hi all, just signed up to read, get advice and learn.

Bought a Red Sea Reefer 250 v3 a couple of weeks ago, it arrived yesterday and after almost 2 full days putting bits together it’s starting to come to life.

Still to do - the dc pump supplied came with fittings for a completely different pump so that’s got to go back. Also got to get electricity to the area and sort some sort of board to mount the sockets on. Need some power heads too...Then I think I’m all set...

I have the Red Sea 300 skimmer, Red Sea reef90 led lights, 300watt heater, Caribsea rock, coral sand, jump net and LFS supplied saltwater. They’ve given me a bottle of AquaVitro seed bacteria. Feel free to critique my setup, let me know what else I need etc. I’m not sure I’ve got the skimmer or heater in the most ideal places?

Cheers,
Dan

I had a tropical tank for a few years but it split and I decided that rather than jumping back into tropical I’d get into marine - completely different though ballgame though!

More challenging, more expensive, and definitely more rewarding. Just keep in mind that reef tanks are not nearly as forgiving as fresh water. Go slow, do your research and ask LOTS of questions. You're going to love it!
