I’ve always been very thorough about qt for my fish, but I’ve always slacked when it comes to qt of everything else. Please tell me about your coral qt system: lighting, filtration, flow, tank size/dimensions, tips, lessons, anything else.

Thanks.

Matching display light (metal halide), skimmer, flow pumps, bare bottom, 24x60 and 10 inches deep (I cut an old really scratched acrylic tank in half - literally), CaRx and a fuge with some dragons[breath, flame] algae. No fish, but I do have an urchin and some snails. I have about 100 gallons in total.

CaRx is not really necessary, but I like it and stability matters in a frag tank too. I would not skimp on lights... I like to match the display for easy transition.

I would not go too small... I have had better luck with larger QT systems. I have a pair of Mh over the tank - if it is not full, I move the stuff from one side to the other every few weeks and rotate the lights to keep the coralline down a bit and burn the bulbs evenly.
