Conceptual definition what is a real Bailling ?

Hello everyone

I would like to raise a discussion about what is the real definition of bailling method.
As far I assume the original published by Hans Bailling and latter reviewed by him means : A -calcium chloride, B- sodium bicarbonate and C - everything in sea salt without calcium chloride.

I've seen some folks selling as Bailling A, B but C with only Mg, others selling with the part C from Tropic Marine and others companies advertising their Bailling better (but what is the definition of better if part C is everything in sea salt without calcium chloride?).
Do you believe the name Bailling is being used erroneously among the hobbyists as well the industry for all kind of 3 part Ca and Ra supplementation ? Or is a common sense that the Bailling name could be translated as some of products that we know that are called by the name of the most famous mark instead of the real manufacture mark ?
Or did Bailling become a "free platform" and people add to it what they think is important as part C ?
Conceptually how we deal with the original Bailling formula vs what is being advertised ?

For me Balling is only with part C, everything else is just 2,3,4 part dosing. I find it weird that others use the inventors name without using the actual invention.

This discussion seems to be an entirely semantic argument. I’m not sure it matters what is actual Balling, but I do think it would be nice if anyone selling anything other than the original recipe made it reasonable clear how it deviated. I’m not asking for exact amounts of, say, manganese, but know if extra is added would be nice.

At the moment there are many different 2, 3, and four part systems, each with some different pros and cons.

Two of my favorites are a diy using TM Balling Part C, and ESV B-ionic.

My take is that the only true Balling method is Tropic Marin Original Balling method. It was developed by Hans Werner Balling and he did publish the original paper/ article.

The other methods are 2/3 parts dosing methods and some may be exact copy of Hans Werner method.
Some like Fauna Marin Balling light use the name yet the method does not follow the recipe.

It would be helpful if these other recipes stated how they deviated from the original as Randy mentioned.

Early on when NaCl free salt was not easily available number of alternative recipes became available and they used the Balling name so now it is used to describe number of methods.

When I started I also found the “Balling” term confusing. I knew about the TM Original Balling and I assumed anything with Balling was a copy, 3 parts with same chemical composition.
