I have to admit, I've found my conductivity sensor to be beyond useless. Tonight, after using it for almost 2 years, I figured out why. I didn't look close enough at the units of measurement. I would calibrate it at 50ms and it would read fine. I'd put it in a 1.026sg solution and it would read 1.023. That's when I noticed that the Profilux doesn't offer specific gravity as an option. You can do micro Siemens, PSU and density. Unfortunately, density and specific gravity are a little different.

It would be a very nice update to get specific gravity added to the possible display units since that is what most reefers in the US use. @Vinny@GHLUSA any chance you can make that request on our behalf?

@Brew - I agree that specific gravity would be nice. In the mean time is it possible to set it to 52,400 uS?

I don't do any salinity based control, so that aspect isn't a problem. It's just that 52.4mS or 33.1PSU doesn't mean as much to me as 1.026sg.

Makes sense. I use uS in FW and sg in SW.

I use the PSU as it's equal to salinity, so 35 psu = 35 ppt. And since 35ppt is the same as 1.0264 sg I will take it. Definitely close enough for government work.

As @EddieJ mentioned, the PSU value displayed by the ProfiLux is equivalent to the PPT unit on refractometers, it 1:1.
The other measurement values are useful to research facilities and universities.

I'll put the request in. :)

Thanks @Vinny@GHLUSA I appreciate it. I'm sure I could learn to think in terms of PSU/PPT but it would be an adjustment.

Now go ahead and make the big Black Friday sale announcement you logged on to tell us about! ;) :p
