The new tank is on the way. Custom from SCA Aquariums. I love the fact that they send approval drawings prior to starting building it.

Can’t wait to see it come together, starting a new project is always exciting...enjoy the process
Thanks! Fortunately, my system will not require nearly the work that yours did! All I have to do is build a stand and do some electrical and plumbing.

The new tank was delivered today.

The good news? No damage during shipping!

The bad news? Build quality could have been better. The top Eurobrace isn't straight.

Well I’m glad it arrived in one piece. Have you contacted SCA about the Eurobracing?

I have not. He actually tried to repair it prior to shipping so I had an idea it might be a problem.

From the front you cannot tell it isn't right. The top will have a screen set on it so it will barely be noticeable.

I'm very much a realist. I know SCA is not one of the highest quality aquarium builders. Part of going with the lower price is an acceptance that it won't be perfect. I'm going to think about it for a few days but I will likely just live with it. The rest of the tank really does look great. The glass clarity is amazing! Other than a silicone smudge where you can see he tried adjusting the brace it all looks great.

Anyway to support that Euro brace . Perhaps from underneath?
My concern is over time it may drop more.

I pushed on it quite hard and it has some elasticity but it didn't give. The silicone is holding it very tightly in place.

I was just about to score two of their 45 cubes (tanks only) but this has me rethinking that. Why would they ship it like that? However, you could just cut it out and re silicone it! Great looking tank. Don't want that bugging you for the next 5 years.

Just got back from an amazing weekend. My wife and I went to Camp Lejeune with a good friend of ours to celebrate the Marine Corps birthday and Veterans day.

I have to say that this was an amazing event with the 2nd Anglico's and I am very appreciative of the invitation they offered and the hospitality they provided. Friday morning was a golf tournament where my friend and I played on the commanding officers team. That night was a reunion dinner for the retired Anglico's. We spent the evening talking to a group of Vietnam vets along with a Korean War vet.

Saturday was the Marine Corps Ball, hence the tux. I always love the ceremony involved (my wife is a Marine so we still attend them local to us) but this one was special since the Anglico's are a special operations force. The highlight of the night was when they Facetimed with one of their buddies who was recovering at Walter Reed after being injured 2 months ago in ... well, I'm not allowed to say where.

It was a great weekend but I am glad to be home. My poor liver needs a chance to recover!
