Good day to all,
I am attempting a different type of build to go with the rest of my Marine household. I am building a fully functional (hopefully) pretty hands off jellyfish display tank in the entranceway that should only require some pretty basic maintenance once a week or bi-weekly if I get it right. I do have a 5 gallon Jellyfish Art tank that has been up and running for quite a while about 6 months and they are doing great but they have grown some and it is getting crowded in that tank for 5 jellyfish. I am going with the Ocean Ring 287 Liter (75.8 gallon) self contained ring. I intend to keep about 15 Jellyfish (Moon Jellies various sizes)

I have built the stand, added power with 4 smart outlets that will control the functions I am going to do. My tank is on backorder for 6 weeks so getting the rest done while I wait anyway here is where it stands today.
Built the stand this week all aluminum
I built in the power strip with 4 of them being Govee smart switches that I can program and wired in some under cabinet lights from Harbor Freight
Installed a GFCI outlet as always for safety reasons
I have a 36 inch piece of 40-4040 T slot profile that is going to go across the back to support 12 x 8 metal shelf that my GHL 2.2 Maxi Doser will sit perched right above the Antartic Star 10 L mini fridge that will house my Vevor magnetic stirrer and Icecap 1500 ml doser container. I am drilling a hole in the top with a grommet feeding right to the dosing container and one in the bottom side for the power cable.
I am going to be feeding them twice a day automatically using the refrigerated Brightwell Jelliplanktos M at a morning dose of 3.8 ml and one 10 hours later at the same 3.8 ml. I will be skipping a dose 3 to 4 times weekly and giving them live brine instead of the Jelliplanktos. The plan is to program several switches to do the following:
7:58 AM Stirrer turns on for 2 minutes then off 8:00 AM
8:00 AM GHL doser sends 3.8 ml of feed into the return section of my ring tank.
8:01 AM Return pump turns off (feed is now in tank)
8:01 AM GHL doser returns feed still in line to the dosing container in the mini fridge
8:25 AM Return pump turns back on and tank runs as normal
Same as above begins again at 5:58 PM
Several times a week I simply go into the app and tell it to skip a dose and feed them live brine I will raise in my 2 L hatchery downstairs in my fishlab as right now I am just using 2 of the dish type hatcheries to feed them
1500 ml of Jelliplanktos M from Brightwell direct is about 74 dollars and should last me about 28 weeks. I buy my 90% hatch rate brine shrimp eggs from Aquarium Co-op so about 50 dollars for 200 grams should last almost all year. I have calculated water changes out for this tank to require 2 maybe 3 boxes of salt at 74 dollars a box for the year. Moon Jellies treated right can easily live 18 to 24 months and will need a plan to replace probably 8 or so per year at a cost of around 180 dollars a year shipped. All told Jellyfish year round in this tank should cost me around 45 dollars per month ( electricity not included but draw is minimal so 10 to 15 dollars per month) with electric included probably around 55 or 60 dollars per month. The nice thing is Jellies do not require a heater they do quite well at ambient anywhere from 60 degrees to around 78 is fine for them. Wish me luck and goodwill hopefully I can report back some positive results once up and established for a little while.
