I have a Nyos 160 skimmer trying to find an easier way to connect it without having to pull the silicone hose off the waste collector each time I dump the waste collector. The Nyos skimmer cup drain is metric close to 3/8” and the Reef Octo waste collector nipple is larger than 3/8” anyone running similar equipment? Here’s a few pics :

I don’t understand... is that another skimmer sitting on the floor or something else? Is that what you are using for the waste collection?

We have our skimmer cup going into a hose, through the dividing wall under the stand and into a plastic container that we swap out and clean every week or so. It’s so much easier than trying to wrestle the collection cup off the skimmer.

It’s a reef octopus waste collector. It shuts the skimmer off when it’s full. Skimmer cup drains to waste collector float ball cuts off switch that skimmer is plugged into.

Thank you, that makes more sense. I hadn’t heard of this particular gadget... probably because the idea of skimmate hanging around that long would gross me out hehe.

Here is what we have going on... the hose just runs to the jug on the other side, and when I notice an inch or so in it, I swap out the two jugs and rinse the dirty one. They have Velcro on the bottom that attaches to the bottom of the stand to prevent accidental tipping over.
