Container size for mixing station

Going to hopefully setting up a 25g lagoon soon. Need help on size of containers for mixing station. Don’t know if I should go with a 32g for Rodi and a 20g for salt or two 20g containers or a20g for Rodi and a 15g for salt. My thought process is that if I go 32/20 I’ll have 12g left over for top off without having to make more water. Which with a 10% water change per week will give me enough salt mix for 8weeks. If I go smaller (2) 20’s I’ll have to make extra water for top off and if I do 1 20g and a 15g for salt it will last about 6 weeks and give me 5g of Rodi for top off. I know what you going to say, GO BIG OR GO HOME, but would still like some thoughts. Thank you for your opinions.

Do you have to ‘hook up’ the rodi system to make batches, or is it full time plumbed? Fixed pumps and plumbing between mixing bins?

Mine is all fixed in place. I went 50g/50g mostly because that’s what I could find. I think it would be nice to have slightly more salt W than your tank size for initial fill and having a lot of salt water in an emergency/back up capacity.

Making RODI is easier than making salt.

…..and go as big as you can on both of course!

I would vote for big salt and a big matching RODI. You don’t want to wait to make a second batch of rodi to completely fill the salt vat before mixing new batch.

If you automate water changes, which is epic, bigger salt is better. I do 2 gals daily and wish I had more capacity than what I do.
