Hi, exactly how easy is this to install, I know nothing about electronics at all, and secondly how much does it cost.
Is there an app for the chip?
Any info would be appreciated

Welcome! I only have Apex. They are easy, price really depends on what modules you need. The base is around $800, although they may have a cheaper version.

Welcome to R2R, do your homework, a controller is not necessary to get your tank up and running. A controller offers information and assistance, you though, are in control!!!

Their is GHL, Apex, and Hydros, and they are all great controllers. Their is a ton of info in the controller forum about each.

If you are looking for affordable, go with Coralvue Hydros. If money isn't an issue, it seems like most people go with Apex or GHL

Both Apex and ReefKeeper are easy to setup and use. ReefKeeper if you find one is SUPER Easy

Welcome! Glad you joined.

I don't use and don't have any plans to use a controller, so I'll have to defer to others on this. Seems like they'll already asking which specific model/brand you might have/want.

Have you considered starting your build thread? I found its a great place to document my tank's evolution for myself. Like you, I started tank first then joined, so I'm still finding myself going back collecting pictures & updating historically as well as current state. Once you create your first post in your thread and link it to your account, they will give you build badge (look left, under my ID)
