Hi there, im KenC, i have a 20ft x 10ft fiberglass swimming pool in the yard, with few sand filter/UV filter/multiple pumps installed, im been researching on possibility of converting swimming pool to reef tank, is it possible?

Well, just like an upscale reef aquarium, technically it should work?? Sorry, im really new to reef aquarium, for me its like, since i have quite a lot of inlet/outlet pipe build in, i just need to change all the filter to reef aquarium filter (upscale te filter to meet the size of the pool? Or multiple the filter?)

And seems like reef aquarium can be an ecosystem itself, should be a large pool will do so?

Thanks for reply. And sorry if i ask stupid question, i just like the ocean too much

I read a lot on natural swimming pool, freshwater swimming pool, saltwater swimming pool, but that is not what i really interested, i want a seawater reef swimming pool, is that possible?

I guess it depends on your climate. Are there natural outdoor reefs in your area ? If not, then no it wont work.
If there are, keeping temps in check will be a major headache. Pools get hot in tropical climates, much hotter than the ocean.

People that have outdoor aquaculture systems (basically a giant outdoor pool reef tank) are located right next to the ocean and constantly pump fresh seawater through their systems.

Yeah, its true pool water is much more warmer than ocean, guess that temp is a big bummer
