Hi, so I want to get some new fish online. I am considering getting a convict tang (along with some chromis) but want to add more fish to the tank later on. He will be very small, and it is a 55gal. Will he bother other fish later on in your experience? The new fish will likely be gobies and blennies and wrasses much further on. Thanks!

55 gallons is too small for a convict tang even as a juvenile imo. Especially with a blenny. They are going to be sharing grazing spots and tbh the blenny might be the more aggressive to start, exasperating the close quarters stress on the tang.

Well what about suggestions for other peaceful fish that will swim in open? (Especially a tang that will be comfortable in a 55 until I move him out) I already have a bicolor blenny, and YW goby + pistol shrimp pair btw

I wouldn’t put a tang in a 55g. They’ll outgrow it too fast and become aggressive / stressed.

Pygmy or dwarf angels may be a better choice.

Any troubles with nibbling corals? I have a few zoa frags and would hate to see them eaten (some clove, gsp, and mushrooms as well)

I dont have many zoas, have one paly, but hasn’t touched my barrium(not gsp but same genus), or euphylia, gorgorians or any sps.

I have never kept the lps they most often nip like acans.
