Hey all. I currently have a 45 ga FOWLR tank that is basically at max capacity and I have a 75 gallon freshwater planted tank with small fish that are not even and never will reach capacity. It dawned on me that I think I’m a dummy and I’m sure anyone reading this knows where I’m headed. I already have a dump, protein skimmer etc that I’m not using because I didn’t feel it necessary for my fish only. But I want to swap the 2 and create a reef as well as get some slightly larger fish. One big obstacle I see is I would need to transfer both tanks at the same time and in the same day. Also I will need to get more rock, substrate And upgrade my lighting. Other than that, does anyone see any possible obstacles? I would wipe down each tank as I switch but would not use any chemicals as I won’t be able to let the tanks sit empty for any large amount of time

As I’m sure most can notice, my saltwater tank has no fish. I had to quarantine entire tank from an ich outbreak. Fish are healthy, now waiting out that 8 week fallow

My attention span is like a 5yo — what is the question?
To switch my salt and fresh water tanks between my 45 and 75. And if there are any issues I’m not foreseeing making this swap while having to repopulate both tanks in the same day. If that makes sense

Gotcha -/ sounds like a lot of fun. I would just keep the saltwater and convert the freshwater into salt but that’s just me! ;)
