Well had a failure on my part , had just gotten a new heater for the tank and apparently it heated the water too well ... Cooked about half the fish I had including the 2 fiji blues devils I just ordered a few days ago :/

Question is what now ? Just got left with a maroon clown and a small school of four lines.

Reliable, industrial grader heater controller. Ranco is the best. Buy it for a lifetime - see if you can find a reliable account of one failing.

In the mean time, have some saltwater mixed up in case the heat wave might cause some bacteria or micro fauna to die which also might cause an avalance of other organic material to also start to die. This can raise ammonia, but the most important thing to look out for is decreasing oxygen. Keep the tank well aerated with lots of surface agitiation.

Without knowing the real temperature and what is in the tank, the heat might not have done much, so it is also possible that nothing else could happen... but better to be prepared.
