Hello family. Just got this colony yesterday at a LFS outside my normal area. They had lots, I mean lots of SPS colonies there weren’t looking so hot. Most were bleached out, including the piece I ended up getting. So with that being said, I wheeled and dealed with the manager and was able to bring home a potentially beautiful acro colony.

Purchased on July 31, 2020 and was almost bleached, aside from minimal striations of pink on the skeleton and pale blue tips. I was optimistic when I saw all the polyps fully extended so I thought I’d give it a shot....after a 30min drip acclimation and CoralRx dip I finally put her in the tank.

I’m excited to see what happened next! I’ll keep your guys updated

Even if most of it dies back and you keep a small piece, it's usually a score and fun ride. I picked up a Spath that looked bleached at the LFS under their super blue lights; but really 80% was dead when I got it home. Luckily it recovered and is now growing at a fast clip. Good on the wheel and deal!

Looks like an indo piece. Keep a close eye on it for flatworms etc. also inspect for bite marks.

it shows potential.

I qt for a few days and performed a dip with CoralRx before introducing into the main system. I believe you are correct in the Indo location. The seller stated Bali sps, but who knows.

No I didn’t, should it even after qt and dipping as well?

At that point I think some are just remounting to avoid algae’s and other Things like that. I think that’s the worst part about the mari bases, especially for people with nice clean tanks. I like to keep the acro on its base because when I get them they are often just out of the bag from a two day ship and I can’t stress them anymore without risking the coral. I have gotten pretty good at spotting pests and if I get something I will deal with it, plus I already have lots of wierd algae so the base won’t hurt any further.
Looking forward to a growth update later on!
