Cool MOON tonight

Too much clouds cover in my area right now. Supposed to be best viewed around 4:30...i think I'll be sleeping through it!

I was outside right as it was happening but I had no idea, didn't hear about the eclipse until 30 minutes after the fact. I'm so bummed I missed it. Perfect conditions here in Michigan, sky clear as can be.

We were so lucky! A cold front with clouds and some rain moved through our area on Saturday and Sunday but it cleared out just a hour before the eclipse started. We had mostly clear skies but quite cold (mid 40's is REALLY cold in SW Florida). I got some fairly good photos. Notice that the ones that aren't red are sharper than the red ones. That's the difference between a short exposure with a bright moon and a longer exposure (and therefore movement) with a much dimmer moon. But all in all, not bad for a point and shoot 'bridge' camera.

Not full zoom and before max totality but close enough for the moon to start looking red.

Almost full zoom and with so much more moon still lit by the sun, were was no 'blood red' color yet. DSCN9853 R1.jpg

Full zoom and as close as we got to totality. We were at the extreme eastern edge of those who got to see totality. The upper left edge never got red. DSCN9981.JPG

This one was hand held and shot at 6#0am as we were leaving for the beach to do some low tide shell collecting.
