i bought a couple of "sky genius" clip fans off amazon which are about 22 bucks each. I clip them to the rim and blow across the surface to keep my tanks cool in the summer. I think they work great. They have a rechargeable battery and use USB also.

May or may not help your problem but worked in my case. I got a window air conditioner that I can just run during the day in the room my tank is in. Cost $150 and now I don’t have to worry about the tank getting to hot

You could also play around with your ac vent system and try to dump more cold air into the fish room. Make sure that outlet has full flow.

I decided I will install 2 x 120mm fans. One in cabinet and one in canopy. Unfortunately I have only 1 outlet available but it is broken and is always ON. Even if Apex shows its OFF, I see it provides juice. So right now manual run and when I will be able to find cheap EB8 I will have it automated.
One of my vents blows to the tank, second one is not strong enough.

I think my return pump is producing too much heat. It is running at 100%, it is Jebao DCP-2500. I shut down sump for few hours and noticed drastic drop in temperature so it has to be something in the sump.

Question: Buying bigger pump (also Jebao, budget constraints) will solve problem? Running bigger pump at lets say 50% doesn't produce much heat like smaller pump running at 100%?

I shut down sump around noon.

That 2500 pump is dc right? It can't be dumping too much heat?

Did it cool off weather wise the day u turned off the return?

For a tank that size with glass lids, fans won’t do much good. I have the same set up but 200 gallons and installed a chiller last week and connected to my heating/cooling controller

Glass lids are your problem, its easy to heat water than to cool water. A fan across the top or in the sump will cool the temp, but it will take time

First thing I did was to remove these lids. I got the with the tank so I thought why not to use them, evaporation in 240g tank is pretty serious. I have 20g ATO tank with float sensor. This is new setup and I am just adjusting things here and there.

It is DC pump but I just realized that I turned off the pump and the temp probe was still in the sump...

Yesterday I got 3-12v power supply and I was able to check fans. 120mm I expected really high air flow and it wasn't like that so I decided to install 2 fans in the canopy. And it worked. During the night I got the best temp drop I have ever noticed in my tank. Problem solved I guess :)
I installed fans at 7pm.

My tank ran 82 max no issues. Bought a $10 6" clip on fan for the sump.
Tank now runs 79.
Evaporation went up from 1 to 2 gallons a day but thats how it works. My tank is a 120.
Its the poor mans chiller.
I even have a chiller in the garage but dont use it lol.

This is exactly what I did !! Best 15 bucs I ever invested ! Keeps my tank at 79F all day long, and I live in Florida ! I keep my AC the same, and have similar equipment...a UV AND a Algae scrubber...so more heat. I plug it into my Apex ESB and have a simple statement to turn it on if it gets above 79degs. It'll turn on and off a lot during the day, and I'll leave one of the cabinets open as well on hot days, but better than a chiller ! This is in my sump btw...

Cheapest solution and what I used what the 6" clip on fans as described above going over my tank. Brought it down to manageable 80 degrees. I hooked up the 6" fan on a Ranco temp controller to come on/off at certain threshold.
