Copepod order

Sorry, I wasn’t sure where to post this but figured here or general discussion. I just received an order of mixed pods. Was just curious if it’s normal to not see or be sold a lot of pods. I get that some are going to be microscopic; kinda makes me wonder how the seller knows they even packaged much. Anyways, it’s coming to room temperature now. Maybe I’ll have more life in a bit with a shake. I’m just used to the tiny 250 mL bottles of Tigre Reef Nutrition bottles, granted those are colored up but that’s my comparator. There’s definitely life but did I Just have my expectations too high for 100$ bottle?

I'm with you, I don't see anything maybe a closer video? If they are mixed you should see the larger ones.

In Algaebarn’s jars, I can see the bigger pods. The little species are too small to tell if they’re swimming or not. I have used a magnifying glass.

True. I do see the larger ones. I didn’t pay attention if the video got dumbed down when I uploaded it, but there’s not much there besides the bigger ones I see swimming around.

Oh duh. Good point. I’ll try to look at the bottom with my glass and then with agitation.

Just watched my link and it’s definitely a slower more pixelated frame rate or something. Sorry about that. I can try to edit it in a couple minutes when I have a break

Hold the bottle up against a lightbulb, you should clearly see thousands of tiny dots moving around.

I find that shining it from the bottom up works the best.

@rayadog I have had amazing luck using Reef Legends or Reef By Steele. They're bottles of pods are jammed full and I believe they're both sponsors here...

Well lights out in an hour, will probably add an hour after that and I’ll do a final light check from the bottom like suggested. I checked again and there was a few more but not save its reputation more. Very few.

Newer vid after temp acclimating for a bit. Not sure why the quality is dropping on upload to youtube. For how it’s playing back for me, I can barely see the pods as I see them from the source video. Idk what it is, it’s uploading as a short and not giving me any quality options on upload or playback. Anyways.

Idk if these videos are worth their weight but anyways. Last one I took last night before I added. Was dead tired. Could see some smaller guys but was hard with the gently shake introducing slow rising micro bubbles and my fatigue didn’t have the patience. Thanks for all your concerns. The mixed species is definitely hard to quantify with the smaller guys.

For reference this is a bottle I sold to a local member that sat overnight and typical of what I receive from the two vendors I mentioned above...
