Hi all I receive tons of fish , but somehow I notice all fish do well or at least okay in copper power of 2.0 to 2.5 even wrasse for 30 days.

What I did notice is all yellow tangs I’ve been getting different sources , a lot do not do well for me long term in 2.5 copper or above 2?

Tanks are all cycled but tangs especially yellows I noticed they just get very weird once you bring copper to therapeutic level with them I have no clue why as all these yellows are from different sources but I never have luck quarantine these fish for some odd reason …..

I’ve not noticed this but copper is a sulfate and can impact certain fish and obviously coral as well as biomass why it’s encouraged to monitor levels with a reliable test kit

Yellow tangs have seemed delicate in the fish stores I visited lately. They all look skinny.

I do monitor with a hanna copper test, I check ammonia , I do 30% weekly water change , and make sure copper doesn’t fall under 2.20 they just always have been dying for me (yellows) I would love to have in my display which I keep retrying them but can’t seem to get that species of fish out of quarantine

I've never had any issues with wild caught Hawaiian yellow tangs and Coppersafe. In 2015, I ran 75 of them through the protocol outlined here and don't recall losing any.

Coppersafe should be run at 2.25 ppm, plus or minus 0.25 ppm for 30 days, not more than 45 days.

People are having other issues with tank raised YT.

I have not seen this - I suppose its possible, depending on the kit you're using, that your levels are higher than expected?
