I have a 57 gallon rimless Deep Blue tank in our store, where I put a Longnose Butterfly 6 weeks ago because he was looking thin. He eventually fattened up and eats like a pig. Today I threw in a nice Copperband Butterfly to help with a few aptasia.

I was wondering if anyone has any experience with these two fish together.

I have read conspecific butterflies do not get along, and although Mr. Longnose was checking out his new tank mate, he seems more interested in eating his frozen shrimp and clams. The copper band started looking for food right away.

other tank mates: flame hawk, maroon clown, 1 female rubripinnis wrasse, 4 green chromis.

I have had the two together for a couple of years in a 300.

Good thing is that they are not conspecific butterflies.

I have had the 2 together in a 150 w/o issue.

Making sure there are enough resources for both of them in a tank that size will be the issue. If that can be done then it should be fine.
