coral beauty and eel weird behavior

So i have a small snowflake eel about 10inch-1ft he is a very friendly eel, and hasn't harmed anyone, but my coral beauty does this thing where, the eel is going in a straight line and the beauty will go out of its way to put himself in front of the eel sideways almost touching the eels mouth and kind of twitch of flinches towards the direction the eels going almost, like bracing for a bite over and over again, but the eel isn't aggressive and never bites him or chases him the coral beauty puts himself in front of the eel and almost plays with him, I was wondering if anyone knows what this behavior is.

If I was in a confinement with a juvenile predator that will eventually be big enough to eat me whole, while the predator is still small I would go out of my way to be friendly and introduce myself often to the young monster and pray when we get old that he remembers and believes that we are buds. Otherwise I would hide and some day expect to be lunch.

yeah, that's fair.

I learned this tactic from a coworker who ate my lunch. I think the fish are smarter than I was when I was young.
