Coral Beauty in 40B?

Hi,
I’m planning out the stocking for my 40 Breeder Upgrade, and I came across a website with very cheap coral beauty angels. A coral beauty angel wouldn’t work in these dimensions, right? Are there any dwarf angels worth considering, or am I wasting my time?

I see no reason you couldn’t have a coral beauty in a 40 breeder.

He might be ok for a couple of years, but they do get 4".

I wouldn't do it. I have a two inch C. argi in my 40 and I feel that he has just enough room.

ur coral beauty is going to get the same size as this its about 3 inches i would say go for it

Heres another lemonpeel about 3 1/2 inches quite small fish i think will be fine in a 36"

The Minimum Tank Size has gone up over the years, presumably because we have progressed in this hobby and learned more about these fish. I had a Coral Beauty in my first reef which was a 40 breeder. Back then (I started it in 2005), I think the minimum tank size was listed at 30 or 40 gallons. I had the fish for almost 5 years without issue before breaking the tank down and selling it. But I probably wouldn't do it again. I'd consider putting one of the smaller dwarf angels (Pygmy Yellowtail, Flameback, Cherub, etc.) in a 40 breeder (LA says the min. for them is 55), but I'd pass on the Flame or Coral Beauty.

It's probably fine but pygmy angels are very affordable as well and stay a lot smaller. I think KPA sells them for $25

Be sure to add an angel towards the end, they can be bullies once established.

Yea they are bullies my lemonpeel bullies every new comer more than my tangs and i have 2 supposedly agressive tangs purple and powder blue

I would look at flame back, african flame back, cherub, and Fisher's.

I have a coral beauty and small bristletooth tang in my 40b along with 6 other fish.
