Hey there,

this morning, I noticed that my coral beauty looks slightly different. Could this be a disease?

Otherwise, it is eating and behaving completely normally.

Many thanks in advance.

I can see some mucus on its side and on the top of its dorsal fin. That's consistent with an injury or a sting from an LPS coral.

How long have you had this fish?
Is it showing any other symptoms?
How long has it had these marks?

Hi Jay, thanks for the fast response. I have it for 9 months, no other symptoms and these showed up just this morning. All other fish look fine so far and behaviour is also unchanged.

I wouldn't rush to treat it then, just observe it to see if any secondary symptoms develop. Any treatment is going to require that the fish be removed to a hospital tank, so that would be a big step, only done if it is clear that the fish isn't going to recover on its own.

Hi Jay, thanks for your input on this. Big help!

I started roughly a year ago. This is the first time that I thought there might be something wrong with my fish, so this is a big help.

Should it's health get worse, I will write here again. I have a hospital tank ready if needed.

I recently added a torch coral (first one) this is maybe what has stung it.
