Scientific name - Bodianus mesothorax

Common name – Coral, Eclipse, Splitlevel, Mesothorax Hogfish

Size – 10 in (25.5 cm)

Min. Aquarium size - 125 gal (473 L)

Temperament - Aggressive

Foods and feeding - Should be fed a variety of high quality marine meaty foods. Will also eat other crustaceans.

Reef compatibility - No

Captive care - This is an aggressive fish and will do better with other larger aggressive fish as an adult. It will kill and harass smaller fish. As a juvenile it should be kept with more peaceful fish. As one of the worst tempered Hogfish, caution should be used around it.
