I have a successful 20 gallon reef tank that I’ve been growing for just over a year, and I was thinking of starting a new tank to farm and sell coral, is there any specific things I need to know or is this even profitable at all? Also, where would I sell these? Any tips are appreciated.

The best thing you could do is join a local group or reefing club, go to frag swaps, and meet some of the folks in your area. There may be a good space right there for you and keep you from having to deal with shipping. You may also find that trading and swapping yields more benefit as it can lead to great connections and cheap or free frags in the future.

It also really depends on what coral you're selling. Some fast growing corals just aren't as desirable as they are readily available and inexpensive. At some point you may just have to trim and toss the extra bits.

personally it takes a lot of work to be productive and profitable. I seen a lot of people burn out when they transition from a hobby to a business. It’s 100% possible but can take the joy of coral care out of it. So if you are set on the profit route make sure you set it up so you still enjoy the work.
Add a second tank because you want to and like it. Growing more coral and sell some every now and then is a great way to offset some of the costs and to make the HOBBY a bit cheaper, if you break even you’re doing better than most.

You can make a few bucks, get some store credit.

Not worth the effort unless you have a factory size setup.

But you can cover some of your operating costs.

Was a ton of work….and every frag that didn’t ship well a loss.
