I have 12 similar sized frags available for the low low price of $0. The only caveat i have is that they must be picked up from my house in St. Charles within a week. I'm out of room in my frag tank so these are in a holding tank an I need them gone. I work from home so I'm available just about any time with prior notice. You can call or text me @ three-one-four-229-nine-five-one-eight. If you don't show when pickup is arranged, your frag is forfeit.

Be sure to place the frags in a spot where you will be able to take consistent pictures from the same angle for tracking. Here are my current params:

dkh: 10
cal: 500
mag: 1500
Nitrate: 5ppm
phos: .1ppm
par: 350ish

Good luck!

can I reserve one frag for the contest? I say reserve because I’m planning on putting this in the 90, that I hope to have wet Friday. I’ll know for sure Monday the 22nd

Very generous, Kirk. I’m sure with my nutrients being high I’ll lose, but it’ll be fun regardless.

Don't count yourself out. I don't have ULN anymore, my stuff is finally starting to color up now.

Got one for my display and one for the tank at work. I have to clear a spot for all the frags from the swap in the display so I will get it permanently in a place tomorrow.

What a generous guy. How many people have picked up frags? I want to participate, but I have the awkwardness of being in the middle of an upgrade. I probably wouldn't be able to keep it in the same spot.

I guess people don't like free frags. So far Tim is the only one to pick up frags. The other 2 were from the swap 2 days before the official announcement but fall within a reasonable timeframe so still count for the contest. There is no requirement to not move the frag once placed, I just recommended not to move it for a couple of reasons, 1) If you can't get pictures from at least close to the same angle, it's can be hard to judge growth 2) Every time the coral is moved, it has to go through an adjustment period, so it generally hurts your chances if you move it around. That said, you're more than welcome to pick up a frag still if you want to give it a shot.

I have several more frags available if anyone else wants one, but these have been in a holding tank for a week now and are starting to brown out some so I'd grab one soon if you want it.

Do you think if it was posted on the fb page it might get more hits seems like a bigger audience over there.

hey @smoothdog I was at the swap on the 13th and the last swap before that also. I just moved here from California within this past year so I've been trying to get involved with the swap / reef community here. id like to get in on the contest if I can

Great idea! Heading out of town for a few days, but I can come pick up a frag this weekend.

Btw, this is Marc DeSantis

You're both still welcome to a frag. I'll warn you that these are starting to look pretty rough though. I hadn't really intended to keep them in the holding tank this long.

Looks very small in this 1400gl tank. The Aquarium is in the contest.

I posted about a coral growing contest on the other slash forum. I wanted to get anyone who is only on one forum involved too. It has been a while since the club has done a coral growing contest and I have always enjoyed them. Does anyone here want to participate? We have yet to decide on a coral, cost of entry (probably just price of coral), or what prize any winners will get. I think the time frame should be from this swap on November 13th to the next swap. That should be 5 or 6 months of growing.
I would be interested.
