Coral ID Needed - Two Pieces

Stopped by a LFS and they had a new shipment of coral in. Had a question on two of the coral, just out of curiosity.

First one is purple ring with bright green center:

Second one is purple all over. Sort of looks like an Acan Echinata to me but I haven't seen enough in person to be sure. Sorry :(

The first is a Favia or Favites of some kind. Some species of the two genera are very similar and are hard to tell apart in pics. I think you're right about the second being an Acanthastrea echinata. They aren't nearly as fleshy as Acan lords and have those characteristic bumps that run in lines from the center outward.

Thanks Russell. I still have a really hard time telling Favite/Favia apart.

Since I see you are culturing War Coral, might as well ask. How are the Favite Pentagonia different from the one above?
