Hey there, I got this little frag as a freebie at my LFS today, they seemed to think it was dead, but I saw it with many green polyps extended out before he touched it.

Frag in the photo is about an inch long. Any ideas? (Polyps aren’t fully extended in the photo as my emerald crab was walking on it and picking the algae off)

Thanks!

Looks like a retracted Goniopora
You think? The polyps don’t extend far out like a Goni does (at least I haven’t seen them do that yet). Here’s hoping it is though, haha.

It looks like it’s in pretty rough shape, which is probably why you haven’t seen much extension. Here’s to hoping you can nurture it back to health. Gonis are very finicky, so if you can bring it back to full health that would be awesome!

I'm guessing it's an almost dead teal pagoda cup. More than 80% of that coral is dead so its hard to tell, but the bottom portion that has flesh can be recovered

Okay, thanks everyone. I’ll update this thread if it recovers in time.
