I get how it looks like frogspawn, but I don't think it is. Here's a picture to show some perspective

Does it have a hard skeleton underneath? If not, then it might just be a Mushroom of some type. (Rhodactis?)

to be more precise... I think it's octospawn... (aka, frogspawn wall coral), assuming it has a skeleton that Cloak mentioned. I had one with purple tips.

Very neon green tips at night if that helps anyone. Also it was $5 from LFS.

You can always tell if it's an LPS versus a soft coral/octocoral by the presence of a skeletal structure.

You'd be able to feel the skeleton.. it would be the same as the skeleton of your hammer

It was in the area with a few other mushrooms at LFS. What kind of characteristics do you think? If it is a mushroom, what kind? Growth? I'm still very much a newbie to knowing what is what.
