Coral ID?

Picked up this frag yesterday from my local reef shop, my first thought it might be a Hydnophora and asked one of the guys at the shop, and he thought it "could be", which didn't give me much confidence, but I wanted it anyway! :-)

Anybody have any suggestions?

I do believe you are right, @Crabs McJones , much better match on pictures than any Hydno I could find! Though apparently as aggressive so I placed appropriately! :-)

They can sent out long sweepers (10-12")

Agree galaxea. They are extremely aggressive and hardly loose a fight. Their sweepers are long 10plus inches. If you think you gave enough space give it some more


They are extremely beautiful coral. I just dont have a space to give it or else it would be in my tank.

In that picture, the green parts are the polyps, the light brown is actually skeleton

Definitely galaxea, just checked with lights out and sweepers are out big time!
